May the fourth be with you

In honour of Star Wars Day , here is a picture of where we store our kitchen utensils. If you only knew the power of the Dark Side...   And of course, I have to include a shot of one of our Death Star record clocks. Impressive. Most impressive.

For a Pearl Jam fan. The photo is also showing off our new-to-us turntable courtesy of freecycle .

Billy Idol It's been a while since I posted a painted record, eh? I've got a bunch of record requests to take care of, so there should be many more soon.

A Perfect Pair?

And I thought Sarkozy was a weird request...   Chuck Norris & Bryan Adams It's an unusual request for a wedding gift but I hope the lucky couple like it.

I was impressed with how many people at the craft sale recognized Nina Simone . Here she is as a clock: Only one person asked me if it was Lauryn Hill .

Steady as Abraham Lincoln; ready as Martin Luther King

Obama remains my most popular request. Here he is, as a clock, for a coworker. I still feel like there must be a better canvas for him. Then again, he does have a certain rock star quality to him… Forget Obama Girl , Ani Difranco sings it best:

Yessongs clock

Another commissioned piece done just in time for Father's Day. I'm currently working on a set of Rolling Stones records, so you can expect lots more coming soon.

How awesome is this clock?!? Death Star Clock I’m very proud of this piece. The stencil took me forever to make, but it was well worth it. I’ve already sold two, and I will be making more as soon as I get my hands on some more clock parts (there’s a pun in there somewhere...).

Commissioned Work - Aretha clock

I'm still buzzing from the inauguration ceremonies...

Commissioned work - Meet the Beatles Clock

Image
My last Christmas piece was for my little brother to give to his girlfriend. He wanted the Beatles and I wanted another opportunity to try a clock as I wasn’t happy with how I glued the last one down (never use hot glue anywhere near vinyl!). Krazy glue works much better and the only things I would change if I could do it again would be making the clock hands more visible and adding “The Beatles” to the lower left side.

Commissioned work - Abbey Road Clock

I've been wanting to try making a record into a clock, so when my friend Neil requested a Beatles record for his mom, I thought it was the perfect opportunity. I just wish you could tell that Paul is barefoot .
