I shouldn’t be so tempted…

I have recently discovered that used school buses are very cheap. There are several for sale in Ottawa for under $3000.

If I’m not careful, I’ll soon wind up in something like this.

We're navigators, we're aviators, eatin' taters, masturbatin' alligators, bombardiers, we got no fears, won't shed no tears, we're pushin' the frontiers of transcendental perception...

If only all magic bus riders were as cute as Jim Sturgess…

Wedding Wednesday: Metal Flowers

Metal Flowers I've been saving up our aluminium cans to use them for a few different wedding projects. The first thing I'm using them for is pop can roses. The metal roses are made pretty much the same way as the giant paper flowers we made for Promdemonium last year. First I clean off the cans and remove some of the paint, then I trace and cut out the heart shaped petals before bending and attaching them to a wire stem. I get about 1 flower per can and while it does take some time, it's a good way to keep my fingers busy while we're enjoying netflix.

Flash's Guardians of the Galaxy Birthday Party

As Axel's birthday falls so close to Halloween, I was hoping to save a little sanity by working his Halloween costume into his party theme. He was really excited about his upcoming Rocket and Groot party, but, three-year-olds being the fickle creatures that they are, on the day of the party he insisted that he would be the Flash and nothing could convince him otherwise. Now that Axel is getting older he has strong opinions on things, like how his party should be, which can be a little challenging for me, but on the flip side he is able to help out with the preparations which is a lot of fun. This theme worked well for the skill levels of a preschooler since nebulas and starscapes don't need to be precise and actually look best a little messy. My little helper and I had a great time baking and decorating galaxy star sugar cookies and painting the photobooth backdrop.
