10 Things I Love About Chris

  1. He makes coffee before getting into the shower every morning so I can sleep in a little longer
  2. He calls me “Peaches” so as not to confuse me with Simone, who he calls “Sweetheart”
  3. He never rushes anything (or anywhere). I know he’s always thought long and hard on something before making the right choice; he never does anything haphazardly.
  4. He takes care of me when I’m sick, when I’m in a bad mood and when my allergies are making me feel gross

  5. He picks me up, lifts me into the air and kisses me
  6. Not only does he put up with my crazy projects and the chaos that goes with them, he helps me accomplish more than I ever could without him. It takes a special person to live with a dinosaur blocking the hall for over a month.

  7. He somehow makes me feel small (no easy feat!)
  8. When I’m scared at night, he’ll get out of bed to double check that all the doors are locked and then talk to me about how we could fend off zombie attacks long enough to get to Bertha and drive to safety. It’s important to have a plan for these sorts of events.
  9. We create a wake behind us at concerts, so he ends up standing behind me and holding me close.
  10. He makes me so very, very happy

As Axel's birthday falls so close to Halloween, I was hoping to save a little sanity by working his Halloween costume into his party theme. He was really excited about his upcoming Rocket and Groot party, but, three-year-olds being the fickle creatures that they are, on the day of the party he insisted that he would be the Flash and nothing could convince him otherwise. Now that Axel is getting older he has strong opinions on things, like how his party should be, which can be a little challenging for me, but on the flip side he is able to help out with the preparations which is a lot of fun. This theme worked well for the skill levels of a preschooler since nebulas and starscapes don't need to be precise and actually look best a little messy. My little helper and I had a great time baking and decorating galaxy star sugar cookies and painting the photobooth backdrop.
